Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY) is a Central Government Scheme, where all the eligible candidates from our country can apply online. The scheme was launched in the year 2016, and the scheme’s beneficiaries are over 10.35 crores till now.
The government had initiated the PMUY Ujjwala Yojana by inviting online Registrations at the official website pmuy.gov.in.
As the women of our country are the head of the kitchen, this scheme also helps to empower women.
The Government had noticed that there are many households where there is no availability of LPG Gas. They depend on firewood, coal, cow dung cakes, etc., for their daily cooking. By using these resources, there are many disadvantages for households and also for the environment.
These traditional cooking methods produce indoor pollution. Also, it is a burden and time-consuming to collect the resources every day, leading to deforestation. Air pollution and deforestation are harmful to the environment.
