SSC JE 2020 – Application Form

SSC JE Application Form can be filled in online mode only at the official website – ssc.nic.in. The last date to submit the application form was September 12, 2020 (up to 5:00 PM). Candidates should read the important instructions carefully before start filling SSC JE Form filling.

SSC JE 2020 Application Fee

SSC JE application fee is INR 100/-. Women candidates and candidates belonging to SC/ST/PwD and Ex-Servicemen are eligible for reservation and are exempted from paying the fee.

  • The application fee can be paid either through online mode or offline mode.
  • The online mode includes payment through BHIM UPI, net banking/debit card/credit cards.
  • However, the offline mode includes payment through SBI Challan.
  • Challan is generated online after the completion of SSC JE Part 1 Registration. Deposit the requisite fee in any branch of State Bank of India and then continue with the Part 2 Registration.

SSC JE 2020 Admit Card

SSC JE 2020 Admit Card is being released from March 17, 2020 onwards region-wise. All candidates who successfully fill SSC JE Application Form

will be eligible to download the hall ticket. The admit card has/will be made available on the official website and on the regional SSC websites.

  • Candidates can download it by using their registration ID and date of birth.
  • SSC JE 2020 will be conducted in 115 cities across India.
  • The admit card along with a valid ID proof must be carried to the exam hall.
  • Staff Selection Commission will not issue any hard copy of admit card.
  • In case of any discrepancy, you may contact the conducting body at regional/sub-regional center for immediate correction.

How to Download SSC JE 2020 Admit Card?

After successful submission of application form, candidates will be required to download admit card. Following are the steps to download the admit card –

  1. Visit the official website i.e. ssc.nic.in
  2. Click on the link ‘SSC JE 2020 Admit Card’.
  3. Enter the required credentials i.e. registration ID and date of birth.
  4. If in any case, the official website fails to load or download, checking the regional/sub-regional website will be other option. Here is the list of the regions and sub-regions:
  1. Save and print the admit card.
  2. Do not forget to carry it to the assigned examination center on examination day.

SSC JE 2020 Eligibility

Applicants who are willing to appear for the exam should check their eligibility before filling SSC JE Application Form. The verification of the eligibility conditions of the applicants would take place at the time of the recruitment process. Given below is SSC JE 2020 Eligibility Criteria:

SSC JE 2020 Nationality

Candidates who are the citizens of mentioned country are eligible to appear for the Exam–

  • A citizen of India, or
  • A subject of Nepal, or
  • A subject of Bhutan, or
  • A Tibetan refugee who came over to India before January 1, 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India, or
  • A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (Formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.

SSC JE 2020 Age Limit

A candidate should fulfill the required age criteria as on January 1, 2020:

Junior Engineer (Civil, Electrical and Mechanical), MES and other departments 30 Years

Candidates belonging to reserved categories will be permitted relaxation in upper age limit as per government of India reservation norms.

SSC JE 2020 Educational Qualification

Applicants must possess Engineering degree or diploma in any of the following specialization:

  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Civil Engineering
  • Electrical Engineering

The requirement varies for the position applied. Also, in case of diploma holders, two/ three years of relevant field experience is required.

The exam consists of 2 Papers- Paper 1 (objective type) and Paper 2 (conventional type). The time duration for each, Paper 1 and Paper 2 is 2 hours.

SSC JE Exam is conducted through two phases- Paper 1 and paper 2. Paper 1 is a general screening exam while paper 2 is a core engineering subject exam.

SSC JE 2020 Selection Process

SSC JE Recruitment is conducted for eligible candidates for various Junior Engineer posts and vacancies. The Recruitment Process takes place after the declaration of Results. Candidates are shortlisted on the basis of their scores obtained in both the Paper 1 & 2.

Candidates who successfully qualify the SSC JE Exam will be eligible for participating in Recruitment Process and shall be on probation for a period of 2-years. During the period of probation, candidates would be required to undergo such training or pass such examinations as prescribed by the Controlling Authority.

SSC JE 2020 Exam Centers

SSC JE Exam is scheduled to be conducted in over 115 cities around the country. Candidates have the option to provide the test city of their choice as per their convenience while filling the application form. They should clearly indicate their preferences of exam centers in SSC JE Application Form. No request to change the examination Centre will be entertained.

SSC JE 2020 Cut off

The cut off scores are the minimum scores that a candidate needs to obtain in order to qualify the exam. SSC JE cut off is decided by the Commission. The SSC releases separate cut offs each for paper 1 and paper 2. The given below table provides previous year SSC JE Cutoff 2018-19 for Paper 1:
