Andhra Pradesh CM Jaganmohan Reddy announced about the Jagananna Vasathi Deevena at the cabinet meeting held on 29th November 2019. Under this scheme, Rs. 20,000/- per annum will be provided to every student for food and hostel expenses from the year 2019-2020. The new government had made changes in the eligibility for availing for the Jagananna Vasathi Deevena Card. We have given the details about the changes in eligibility, application procedure to apply online, Benefits of the scheme and we will also include immediate updates regarding this scheme along with the beneficiary list and the status of the application.
Through Jagananna Vasathi Deevena Card the Andhra Pradesh Government will pay accommodation and Food charges. ITI students will get Rs.10,000/-, Polytechnic students will get Rs.15,000/-, Degree and other higher courses students will get Rs.20,000/- per annam through Jagananna Vasathi Deevena Card. The scheme was approved in the cabinet meeting. Along with Jagananna Vasathi Deevena, Jagananna Vidya Deevena will also be implemented. The budget allocation of both the schemes is Rs.5,700 Crores.
The Budget for Vasathi Deevena will be Rs.2,300 Crores where as it is only Rs.500 Crores in the former Government. The former Government had given Rs.500 crores for Vasathi Deevena now it has been increased to Rs.2,300 Crores per year through Jaganann Vasathi Deevena.
The Government is going to help maximum number of students through both the schemes of Jagananna Vasathi Deevena and Jagananna Vidya Deevena. There are 11,44,490 beneficiaries who are eligible to avail the benefits of the scheme. Due to the changes made in the eligibility criteria there may be increase in the number of beneficiaries.
Previously, Those students whose family income is Rs.2,00,000 are taken as eligible. But now there had increased the income criteria from Rs.2,00,000 to Rs.2,50,000/-. The students whose family income is less than Rs.2.5 Lakh can apply to avail for the Jagananna Vasathi Deevena Card.

Those who have 10 acres of wet land or who have 25 acres of dry land or those who had less than 25 acres of both wet and dry land are included to get the Jagananna Vasathi Deevena Card. The sanitation workers are also included to get the Vasathi Deevena Card without looking at the income criteria.
The family who drive Taxi, Auto, Tractor are eligible for Jagananna Vasathi Deevena Card Scheme. But who had car are not included to get Vasathi Deevana Card. The Income Tax payee’s are not eligible to apply for this scheme. This schemes is not applicable for those who own land of up to 1,500 square feet in cities. Students who study in Polytechnic, ITI, Degree or other courses in Government, aided, private, Affiliates, universities, Boards are eligible to get the Jagananna Vasathi Deevena Scheme Card will be provided for the beneficiaries
Benefits of Jagananna Vasathi Deevena Card
- Jagananna Vasathi Deevena Card provides accommodation and food for the eligible students.
- Students can study well without worrying about the accommodation and food charges.
- SC, ST, BC, Kapu, EBC, Minorities, Disabled will be included as the beneficiaries of Jagananna Vasathi Deevena Card.
- All the students pursuing Polytechnic, ITI, Degree and above level courses in Government, Aided, Private Colleges affiliated to State Universities / Boards will get the benefits of Jagananna Vasathi Deevena Card.
- The families whose annual income is less than Rs. 2.5 lakh or having less wet land of 10 acres or dry land of 25 acres or 25 acres wet and dry.
- Deevena (MTF) Cards will be provided for the beneficiaries.
- There are 11,44,490 beneficiaries, due to the changes made in the eligibility criteria there may be increase in the number of beneficiaries.
- The Budget for Vasathi Deevena will be Rs.2,300 Crores where as it is only Rs.500 Crores in the former Government.

Eligibility for Jagananna Vasathi Deevena Card
- Only the permanent resident of Andhra Pradesh state can avail for the scheme benefits.
- Those who have 10 acres of wet land or who have 25 acres of dry land or those who had less than 25 acres of both wet and dry land are included to get the Jagananna Vasathi Deevena Card.
- No member should be Government employee or pensioner.
- The sanitation workers are also included to get the Fee reimbursement without looking at the income criteria.
- Family should not own 4 wheeler (Taxi, Auto, Tractors Exempted)
- The family who drive Taxi, Auto, Tractor are eligible for Jagananna Vasathi Deevena Scheme Card.
- The Income Tax payee’s are not eligible to apply for this scheme.
- This schemes is not applicable for those who own land of up to 1,500 square feet in cities (municipal areas).
- Students who study in Polytechnic, ITI, Degree or other courses in Government, aided, private, Affiliates, universities, Boards are eligible to get the Jagananna Vasathi Deevena Card.
